I have practised employment law in Scotland for more than 40 years and am a founder member of the Industrial Law Group (now the Employment Law Group) which began in 1977. I was first accredited as a Specialist in Employment Law in 1990 and sat on the Accreditation Panel of the Law Society of Scotland for accreditation in respect of both Employment and Discrimination specialisms until 2015. I have appeared at Employment Tribunals throughout Scotland, England and Wales and advised employers and employees across all sectors on every aspect of employment law from formation of contracts to complex sex discrimination cases. My experience as a member of the steering committee for the Chinook, Piper Alpha, Brent Spar and Cormorant Disasters and my acting as joint lead negotiator in the Piper Alpha Disaster has given me a considerable knowledge in dealing with complex issues.
