As a key member of the Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team at Advance Auto Parts, I engage with strategic software projects and build technical relationships at multiple levels to design and implement Cloud Infrastructure solutions. I work directly with engineering teams to gather requirements, design architectures and translate business needs into solutions. Responsibilities include the following: Implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development. Exhibit Cloud Infrastructure understanding through highly customized designs and solutions. Design and implement VNet and VPC transit network connectivity via Aviatrix Cloud Network Platform and AWS Transit Gateway with dedicated private connectivity from on-prem to Cloud utilizing Azure ExpressRoute, AWS DirectConnect and site-to-site VPN. Design and implement Multi-Cloud network connectivity. Serve as technical contributor for Cloud Infrastructure solutions and customer success, and provide direction and mentoring to others. Identify gaps and enhancements to influence engineering road maps for Cloud Infrastructure initiatives. Work days are non-routine and complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in Cloud Infrastructure. Maintain expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.

The DevOps Solutions Architecture and Engineering organization is a component of Advance Auto Parts’ Information Technology function. This team is responsible for all elements of DevOps Technology Architecture and Engineering from defining the overall enterprise DevOps architecture to its ongoing governance with the goal of ensuring the IT function operates as effectively and efficiently as possible. As a contributing member of the DevOps team I help drive the development, deployment and support of our CI/CD pipelines to support our transformation to a micro-services / SOA based architecture in the cloud. We develop and implement public / private / hybrid cloud based information systems across all phases of system engineering from provisioning to decommissioning. Champion an agile and continuous improvement culture resulting in continual improvement of source code management / build and release systems and tools. Collaborate with various teams across the organizations including Product Management, Architecture, Software Engineering and Infrastructure to operationalize DevOps processes and tools.
