After graduating medical school I first completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and I practiced as a board certified OBGYNt in private practice in Naples Florida for approximately 7 years. I really enjoyed the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and built a very busy and successful practice. As fate would have it, I suffered a nerve injury to my right forearm which prevented me from performing deliveries and surgeries and I was forced to give up my profession. Due in large part to good friends, strong family support and a strong academic background, I was given a rare second chance to re-enter medicine in the specialty of Radiation Oncology. Duke University liked my academics, professional background, and strong desire to re-enter the field of medicine. I feel extremely blessed to have been given the opportunity to retrain at Duke, and I will forever be grateful to the faculty of the Duke Radiation Oncology program for giving me the rare opportunity to re-train at one of the most prestigious cancer centers in the world. At Duke I learned the latest Radiation Oncology techniques, and trained on some of the most sophisticated radiation therapy equipment. Most importantly, I worked long hours alongside some of the top physicians in cancer care. I include the Duke residents that I trained with in that same group of top physicians, since they are also some of the most talented, compassionate, and hard working physicians I have ever met (GO DUKE). Since completing the residency I have continued to pursue educational opportunities, and have worked diligently to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (DABR) achieving Board Certification in Radiation Oncology. I look forward to helping my patients, and applying all of my skills and knowledge to assist them through the difficult journey of cancer care. I truly enjoy delivering very personalized, compassionate state of the art care to my patients and their families.
