It was established by a group of Australians who wanted to create spaces for young people at risk of social isolation which allow them to carry out activities as well as offer support services that cater to their specific needs. David was a member of the Deloitte Victorian Government leadership team. A core aspect of his role is working with CFOs and their teams to identify opportunities to resolve accounting issues, identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function and assist in budgeting, forecasting and the provision of management information.

David was a member of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Taskforce and was responsible for the setup of the financial framework for the new Commonwealth regulator and subsequently the financial operations as the inaugural Head of Finance. This role was responsible for all ACNC financial operations - budgeting, forecasting, procurement, contract management, financial reporting, financial assurance, banking management, appropriation matters and tax management.David also performed the role of Director - Business Services role. This role was responsible and accountable for the direction of four portfolios and associated portfolio heads including Finance, Human Resources, Knowledge Management, Governance and Risk Management.

The Finance Manager for the Road Safety and Network Access Division was the financial expert of one of the VicRoads Core Programs (ie. road safety programs, registration and licencing, heavy vehicle regulation etc. – everything except building roads) and responsible for the business planning of approx $330 million and hundreds of projects/activities.
