I oversee the data science research that takes place on the Food Safety Project under the Food Supply Chain Analytics and Sensing (FSAS) Initiative.

MIT Center for Biomedical Innovation & MIT Sloan School of ManagementDeveloper for long term research projects, duties include:- Manage a small team of MIT students.- Create ETL data pipelines.- Web scraping (Selenium w/ PhantomJS, Beautiful Soup).- Data extraction and transformations using R and Python.- Basic NLP to analyze/transform unstructured text data.- Data visualization (ggplot2, Shiny, basemap).- Experience working with Chinese data and Chinese characters.- Tools used: Python, R, C++, Git/GitHub, OpenRefine, MS Excel.

As the sole member of the Bioinformatics department, I am tasked with providing computational support to all of the projects at Conagen. My primary responsibilities include: enzyme modeling, enzyme docking, protein structure comparison (3d structure comparison), enzyme analysis (incl. critical residues analysis), candidate enzyme selection (incl. a Cytoscape sequence similarity network process), and the programming of bioinformatics tools as needed. My Northeastern Coop final project was a codon optimization software that is regularly in use.

Provided support and analysis for bioinformatics, gene identification, metabolic engineering, and information technology needs.
