Direct management, oversight & development of start-up excess and surplus lines underwriting platform consisting of Commercial General Liability, Contract Binding, Excess Liability, and Professional Liability. Headquartered in Boston, MA, built a $350 million GWP combined group of businesses spanning field underwriting operations in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Scottsdale, and Southington, CT. Developed functional disciplines to drive growth and profitability to the operation including the hiring of key executives and underwriting staff, establishing company risk tolerances & pricing standards, creating underwriting manuals, development of IT / underwriting systems and operational workflows including management reporting, and the creation of the underwriting control framework/risk management program. Responsible for all aspects of E&S business strategy and P&L execution including working as business lead for treaty and facultative reinsurance strategies. Established a national wholesale distribution platform consisting of 200 strategic partnerships. Responsible for all aspects of producer management including development of marketing material, sales, profitability, new appointments, terminations and incentive agreements across all AmTrust E&S products.

Established and launched casualty operations of newly formed Aspen Specialty Insurance Company. This role included executive oversite for the development, strategic direction and profitability of open brokerage, binding authorities and program business. E&S portfolio comprised of Primary Casualty, Excess, Professional and Environmental Liability. Member of Aspen Specialty Board of Directors, Aspen US Leadership Committee and Global Casualty Practice Group involved in creating underwriting and risk management best practices and marketing strategies to enhance Aspen's position within the excess & surplus wholesale brokerage market. Formulated underwriting and reinsurance strategies, annual budgets, business and marketing plans to achieve divisional growth and ROE targets. Responsible for hiring of underwriting staff, developing underwriting guidelines and procedures, development of policy wording, establishing company pricing standards and implementation of effective Underwriting Practice and Control Framework.Developed national wholesale distribution platform and was responsible for all aspects of producer management including production, profitability, new appointments, terminations and incentive aggreements.
