My activity and specialisation process started in the Polytechnic University of Madrid, as grant researcher on forest fire behaviour modelling, where I developed a proprietary system for this purpose. I also developed other models and information systems and advanced visualisation methods on Silicon Graphics platforms, connecting virtual reality environments with GIS applications.In these years I was appointed as manager of research outcome for the whole University, identifying opportunities in the market.I established my own company, Visual Simulation Labs, providing visual simulation services for landscape impact of a number of civil works.After, I was assessor at the Administration on IT and setup a DSS, providing a good look into the ground truth of IT solutions usage.I took part in several EU-funded research projects, taking charge of scientific co-ordination and general co-ordination, thus developing managerial skills on international consortia. For more than five years I was manager of a department in a medium-sized engineering firm, heading a highly dynamic team dealing with information systems applied to land planning, forest management and natural hazards and risks. I also participated as assessor, evaluator and expert in the domain of Natural Hazards and Information Society for the European Commission.Currently I am developing my own business in a shared enterprise venture, managing a good team of multi-domain specialists, exploring new trends in natural hazards.I continue being fascinated by the impact of emerging ITs on society and the transfer of technology, particularly the ubiquitous mobile devices and the new advances in augmented reality and virtual reality for environmental applications.I apply the same level of intellectual uneasiness and innovation to music composing in my free time, wiring synthesisers and computers together and producing music, which revenues by the way go directly and entirely to help in humanitarian causes.
