I am currently the HR people lead for Area 25 in Screwfix based in Cardiff. I have gained extensive operational management experience, which I use to add value to my HR practice, I support my area & advise senior management in generalist HR functions & processes from ER matters to supporting their business objectives, whilst supporting & maintaining the centres HR three year people plan. In addition to this I also provide L&D support in tracking and managing our growing Talent pipeline and apprenticeships and supporting employee career paths for seamless succession. I’ve also worked on various corporate projects and worked cross functionally and I work in partnership with Managers to improve their people KPI’s using analytics by REPORTING, INFORMING and SUPPORTING and attaining compliance. I’ve graduated studying for my CIPD level 5 Diploma in HR management & currently studying Level 5 diploma in organisation learning & development. I am now looking to continue directing & employing my skills and experience towards roles in L&D /HRM to further my career goals and add value & insight. I am a generalist people manager working in partnership. I’m a current associate of the CIPD having gained my CIPD Level 5 Diploma HRM. This membership of my professional body provides me with access to resources that support me in my role and add value to me and the organisation I work for. I keep up to date with the latest people & organisational trends, which provides valuable information & insight, whilst I operate within my professional body’s strict code of conduct. Area 25 consists of 360 heads & I have achieved fabulous results across my KPI’s and have the lowest attrition rates in Screwfix as well as below target absence and a managed talent pipeline that is the envy of most. I&D features highly in all that I do. I have previously managed over 23 businesses, which has allowed me to see both sides. Of these I have opened 6 from scratch and managed 6 whole store revamps. I have also managed “High Street” as well as “Out of Town” & “Trade” formats. I have worked & lived in the North, South, East and West of the country as well as two years in London and achieved significant achievements along the way, whilst overcoming some very challenging hurdles. I previously personally managed Teams from 25 heads up to 150 and turnovers from £3 million to £9 million and retail space from 12,000 SQ Ft to 42,000 SQ Ft. I have also completed various corporate projects and worked cross functionally, whilst designated a Training manager and peer business mentor.
