Environmental Sciences at Mary Hooker is a public K-8 magnet school. We serve one of the poorest communities in the US, with a resource and talent rich program. I have a somewhat unique position where I manage a greenhouse and butterfly conservatory and use those resources to demonstrate the beauty of science, and life. Projects in the last week: mixing compost (G4), recycling audit (G3 and G8), flower anatomy (G7), ecology of ticks (G6), meadow restoratiuon (G8).

Past 7 years conducting field research for Michigan State University, evaluating chemical and biological control, basic life history of the emerald ash borer, an exotic pest.

I manage plant disease and insect problems in a wholesale ornamental greenhouse. Better growing through chemistry, biocontrol, application technique, training, and some research.
