Dr Carey is an endocrinologist & General physician who has practiced, published & taught in the areas of obesity, metabolic syndrome and diabetes for the last 25 years.He graduated in Science and Medicine from UNSW and was awarded the University Medal in 1986.Early endocrine research was at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Garvan Institute, Sydney.He was then senior staff specialist and then acting director of the Dept. of Diabetes PAH.He was appointed as associate professor of Endocrinology at UQ in 2003He moved to full time private practice in 2006 and established the Health+ Diabetes clinic Spring Hill.His clinic runs diabetes, obesity and general Endocrinology treatment programs with the help of exercise physiologists, dieticians.
