As a Learning and Development specialist in a quasi-government and education organisation I have built a wealth experience in a number of areas. Whether developing online sports days at the start of the pandemic with over forty thousand participants to the analysis, development and design of post pandemic safe return to physical education and smaller bespoke online and face to face training courses specific to needs of the organisation I work in. I have thrived in the variety.Being part of a small team the diversity of tasks I find myself completing both challenging and exciting in equal measure. In one day I can be filming introductions to online courses and voicing over segments of video to editing and publishing the videos. In the same week I can be analysing data from observations, interviewing small focus groups or reviewing job descriptions to develop the short, medium and long term training needs for over one thousand employees. Bringing together subject matter experts, learning and development specialists and senior leadership teams to implement and evaluate training programs and courses heavily relies on the soft skills I have developed over a long period of time Working in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment where a varied skillset and the experience of multiple roles suits my personality and makes me an ideal candidate for smaller organisations that need well rounded and multi skilled learning and development specialists. In many of the organisations that I previously worked in professional and personal development was often undervalued by both employees and employers alike. I have changed that perception in my current role. Participants feel that courses are specific and relevant to their needs, that it improves their competency and confidence in their role and makes them not just better employees but better people as well. My favourite quote by an unknown person typifies my attitude to knowledge development and andragogy "People do not care what you know until they know that you care".I am a proud veteran of the British Army and served operational tours in the Former Yugoslavia and N.Ireland.
