About David Casado Cava
My career started with Magento, and "here I am." I have worked as a Magento developer from version 1.5 to the current one, transitioning from a frontend to a full-stack developer, and specializing in backend development for the past few years. Interestingly, the work I enjoy the most is not specific to Magento but rather the integration of the framework itself with external ERPs, APIs, PIMs, resellers... and the necessary implementations to display this data on the website. I also enjoy the analytical aspect of the job, such as documenting developments, evaluations/estimations, providing training to the team (or attending them), analyzing code/the platform to identify areas for optimization, performing Q&A for developments, and most importantly, striving to continually improve so that my code is as abstract and reusable as possible. I am a committed person who wants to do things well, promote teamwork, and be someone that colleagues know they can always count on. Additionally, I am quite curious, so despite working in Magento, I have always tried to work on mini-projects in other technologies during my free time. For example, a tech demo of a game in Unity using C++, a trading bot using Python and its machine learning libraries, a blog/wiki with Docusaurus using my Magento 2 knowledge for the trainings I conduct, a web scraper in Express.js, a website/database of series/movies/games/events that interest me using Vue.js+Firebase, and even during the pandemic, I tried to learn to play the piano (without success so far).
