Employed as an Operations Executive for a small escorted tours sector of the business, I gained valuable experience and knowledge in the running of a small tour operator. From creating a brochure, to packaging and building tours, to promoting, selling and completing administration of tours, I learnt all aspects of how to run a small tour operator. As the business needs changed, I learnt quickly to diversify my role, which shows my adaptability and eagerness to succeed within a small team. I also worked alongside a number of Franchisee's on a day to day basis, helping them develop their own businesses, from updating special offers, problem solving, to sourcing deals, formatting and sending 'eblasts' to send to their customer databases. I established excellent working relationships with a number of cruise line industry partners, in particular focusing on growing the companies' group travel business. With daily analysis of cruise prices using price trackers, we were able to react quickly and advertise these offers to our customers first.

In my first full year in a management role in the financial year ending November 2007, I obtained the Companies top 'A' Performers award.Prior to this I started as a modern apprentice with Thomas Cook earning an award in early 2006 for Thomas Cook's apprentice of the year, coming 3rd overall from a group of approximately 350 modern apprentices whom were also on the Travel Training Company programme.

Working as a Travel Consultant whilst undertaking the first stages of my modern apprentice course, I learnt the day to day duties of working within an independent travel agency.

Working as a hotel entertainer in the busy resort of San Antonio Bay in Ibiza as the sole member of the entertainments team at the hotel. My responsibilities were to organize, run and take part in all aspects of daytime and evening entertainment at the property. Along with arranging daily activities for children, such as five-a-side football, water sport tournaments and games, I would devise and compare evening shows for the guests. Other duties included maintaining good working relationships with professional acts that were booked to perform at the hotel, along with the Spanish hotel staff and British holiday representatives.

Working in the resort of Alcudia on the Spanish Island of Mallorca, as a timeshare representative. Main duties included driving for the outdoor personal contact whilst they searched for potential holiday makers to take part in a timeshare presentation. Handing out flyers and scratch cards to British holiday makers to encourage them to visit properties on sale. Resort representative, meeting and greeting tourists at the properties, showing them the hotels and discussing benefits of buying into the timeshare scheme.
