I served in the Navy aboard a nuclear submarine as a nuclear mechanic. While enlisted I learned attention to detail and the ability to focus. Accountability and professionalism was high with a high level of performance required in daily tasks. The work environment was very stressful as well as diverse, comprising individuals from all across the country. I have experience planning, scheduling, and performing maintenance on steam, lube oil, and fresh water systems. I was also responsible for ordering and receiving parts for my division. My education as a kinesiology major and volunteer work have given me the building blocks to continue learning about the body and the skill-set to research and interpret results of studies. I have taken all the major science courses and am familiar with exercise testing and prescription as well as interpreting EKG's. My volunteer and internship work at physical therapy clinics gave me a practical understanding of how the body moves within the environment along with when to ask for assistance if something out of the ordinary occurs.
