Manage a team of Learning Partners supporting clinical staff (College of Clinical and Medical Services) with roles in Care Coordination, Case Management, Utilization Management, Behavioral Health, and Medical Directors as well as managing Learning Partners in the College of Government Business which ensures Medicaid/Medicare mandated regulatory trainings are created and maintained within compliance of State and Federal training expectations. In addition to providing direct support and strategy for staff and their interactions with clinical/non-clinical stakeholders, coordination with other Human Resources areas and business practices ensure comprehensive support of business training needs.

Served as the Learning and Development liaison interfacing with system developers and clinical stakeholders to ensure all learning and training requirements impacting end-users are supported. This included developing and maintaining working relationships with various stakeholders and conducting regular needs analyses to aid in filling learning/training gaps, change management, and minimizing unwanted impacts stemming from system changes and updates. This role warranted tracking changes via Jira and attending user-acceptance demos to ensure proper strategies and considerations for learning strategies are taken into account.

Designed and drafted learning materials (SOPs, Job Aids, Support Tools) and developed trainings to support the various clinical systems used by clinical staff. This included working directly with system and clinical stakeholders on the various shifts to clinical systems and creating supporting L&D material to aid end-users with staying aware of regular system enhancements and improvements.

Facilitated trainings primarily for incoming/new hire clinical staff to ensure readiness for roles such as Care Coordination, Utilization Management, and Health Coordinators in the Commercial and Government Program areas. Communicated and coordinated with leadership of these various clinical roles to provide updates and completion metrics as well as to aid in a smooth transition from training into their actual roles.

Managed a team comprising of Care Coordinators, Health Coordinators, and Recovery Support Assistants supporting Illinois Medicaid and Medicare members. This included running Team Meetings, developing/supporting new programming, completing case audits and productivity measures, and collaborated within and amongst other areas of Government Programs to ensure program and department success.

Provided Care Coordination services for the Illinois Medicaid and Medicare population. For members identified as having primarily Behavioral Health needs and were stratified as higher risk or higher needs, conducted comprehensive needs assessments, developed individualized care planning, and conducted interdisciplinary care team meetings while meeting contractual expectations as laid out by Illinois Medicaid/Medicare standards.

Provides telephonic assessments for clients interested in accessing their employee assistance program (EAP) benefits in an effort to aid in linkage w/ EAP providers. Special attention is paid in assessing for and identifying safety/risk issues and subsequently developing and ensuring safety plans. In addition to managing EAP benefits, also assists clients in accessing and utilizing behavioral-health/managed-care for specific accounts. This includes reviewing eligibility, assisting in navigating coverage, and obtaining initial pre-certification clinical information for hospitalizations or residential care. Other responsibilities include also assisting clients in utilizing other work-life programs including legal, financial and resource-locating services all in an effort to improve productivity and maximize client's/employee's professional and personal success.

Served as an interim Trainer for incoming new-hire Guidance Consultants by educating trainees on ComPsych's specific documentation system, reviewed and honed clinical assessment skills, and highlighted service skills reflect of ComPsych's beliefs. Worked on a per diem basis providing crisis intervention and assessments in an Emergency Department. Primary responsibilities included providing assessments to determine appropriateness for inpatient/acute mental health hospitalizations. Subsequently, other responsibilities included completing pre-certifications with insurance/managed-care groups, facilitating petitions for involuntary admissions, coordinating hospital-to-hospital transfers, providing necessary psychiatric triage and crisis intervention services, and outpatient/community referrals.

In addition to counseling services, created/reviewed/updated treatment plans, facilitated psychosocial groups, and assisted with day-to-day needs in an effort to increase autonomy and manage symptoms. As a community support specialist, I would typically meet with clients/members in the community and help manage clients through crises, assist with applying for benefits/services, transport members to/from appointments, and provide regular contact to monitor/assess needs.

Worked on a acute/inpatient psychiatric unit providing assessment and support services. Primary responsibilities included completing assessments and relaying day-to-day changes within a caseload of patients, providing counseling, assisting w/ admitting/discharging patients, and maintain other milieu management needs. In addition, worked closely with an interdisciplinary team (psychiatrist, RNs, social workers, occupational therapists, and recreational therapists) and participated in weekly staffings to aid in determining treatment options and ideal discharge planning.

As part of a year long practicum, I served as a College Counselor as part of the Student Resource Center at IADT doing short-term and long-term therapy for a caseload of 12 clients. In addition, worked with various departments to strategize and improve the overall success of the student population. Counseling topics included student/life balance, stress management, improving interpersonal relationships, bereavement, etc. Other responsibilities included participating in campus wide health fairs, educating all incoming students on counseling services, and doing monthly case presentations/review.
