Responsibilities.• Defines requirements for injection molding processes and automation, from concept evaluation through commercialization. • Develops specifications for molding and part design, operating procedures, acceptance and validation test plans and protocols. • Designs, develops, upgrades and debugs molding systems • Troubleshoots mold components and sub-systems. • Molding process selection, concept evaluation, moldability and scalability assessments • Optimize part geometry for moldability, part cost and scalability • Provides technology input to guide product development and design for manufacturability • Scale-up from single cavity molds to high cavitation, high volume production parts • Significant contributor to the development of technology strategy and execution plans• Interfaces with R&D, Marketing and Manufacturing in the execution of project goals• Provides leadership in the transfer of new mold tooling applications to manufacturing• Directs projects and employees in cross-functional setting, directs vendor activities and plant technicians as necessary• Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining pilot molding facilities to support new product launches.
