I worked as the planner for Hong Kong company owned stores and Middle East franchise stores.Cotton On has a wide international presence with only 30% of sales from its home market. As a result of this, all buyers worked on product areas but the planners were all responsible for international regions. Buyers presented their ranges to us and we selected what would work in our regionsThis role called for strong communication skills to deal with 4 buyers at the same time and also good teamwork with the other planners to co-ordinate placing orders at the same time so we hit minimums and helped the buyers negotiate costsEach region also had a small local team who we spoke to regularly to discuss trade, do virtual store walk throughs and give us feedback on product

I worked on the footwear & accessories department & managed a team of one assistant merchandiser and a merch admin assistantNo buying team so worked directly with design to ensure a trend relevant and balanced range
