Prior to coming to Australia in 2008, I was with the US Navy Submarine core as an Electronic Technician and Quarter Master for 5 years. More recently I have been working in the civil construction material testing field as a Field Technician and have worked in both remote and local areas. I enjoy the versatility of this role and the stakeholder engagement it presents me with. But, my future stability is becoming important to me as well, I'm only getting older! Its time for a change back to something that requires a heightened level of intelligence, skill and interest that I know I am capable of. So, whilst working full time I am undertaking studies in Cyber Security. The constant challenge and adaptability required to undertake work in this field I find highly desirable as with the ability to work in a hybrid environment.Current and future security exploitation pose significant challenges for government, military, private sector and the community alike. Trust on line is compromised, AI is progressing innovated cyber crime and shifting power dynamics are threatening transnational relationships. We need preparedness , vigilance and understanding of the new asymmetric environment to combat these ever rising issues and I hope to be a part of that.
