I was responsible for making sure the beverage station was clean as well as making sure all beverages available were fully stocked. Made several of the beverages offered at the Station including sweetened tea, iced tea, coffee, cool-aid, and iced coffee. Including cleaning all of the equipment at the beverage station at the end of each shift. I was also responsible for loading used dishes and utensils into the washing machine as well as cleaning the dish room including all machinery and conveyor belts at the end of each shift.

- Created a presentation that examined the destruction, aftermath, and recovery of Jackson County after the 1925 Tri-State Tornado, the report looked beyond the simple numbers of the disaster and investigated local stories and experiences of the destruction caused by the tornado, as well as the long recovery undertaken by several communities in Jackson County in the aftermath of the storm. The presentation was shown at SIH in Carbondale in October 2018.- Wrote the featured article for the Jackson County Historical Society’s monthly newsletter that explored the history of Presidential visits to Jackson County considering the president’s speech in Murphysboro in October of 2018. The article looked at various presidential visits to Jackson county that included campaign stops such as JFK’s famous speech at SIUC in 19960 or Harry Truman’s “whistle-stop” tour of Carbondale in 1960. The article was published in Jackson County’s newsletter in November of 2018.- Wrote another featured article for the Society’s newsletter that focused on the history of Prohibition in Jackson County, a history that included the context of a heavy presence of organized crime in the county and the effect on a local economy that lost two local breweries as a result of prohibition. The article was published in Jackson County’s newsletter in December of 2018.

-Wrote and edited McHenry County’s “Blackout Ordinance” which prohibited the purchase and distribution of any items containing an elected officials name or likeness with taxpayer money 60 days before any primary or general election in McHenry County, the Ordinance was adopted as an amendment to McHenry County’s Travel and Business Policy in August of 2018.-Wrote a special report for McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks on Illinois law regarding Township consolidation and elimination, the report included current interpretation of pertinent laws regarding Township Organization in Illinois, a review of the process of consolidating or eliminating townships in the state of Illinois, as well as an overview of current pending legislation regarding township organization. The report was given not only to the County Board Chairman, but also County Board members and Township Trustees in McHenry County.- Helped write a report for the McHenry County Regional Office of Education which detailed the enrollment rates, budgets, salary averages, salary totals, test scores, total staff, and tax levy’s for every school district in McHenry County. The report was given to the Regional Superintendant, County Board Chairman, County Administrator, and members of the County Board.-Drafted numerous press releases for the County Administration, these include press releases for the office of the County Board Chairman, the Auditor, the Division of Transportation, the Emergency Management Agency, and the Department of Planning and Development. These Press releases were published on the county website, as well as local news sources such as the Northwest Herald.

Took orders from customers, sliced meat, prepared and sold salads, took inventory of products sold around the Deli Section, prepared and fried foods such as Chicken and Fish in the Chef’s Kitchen section of the Deli, closed and cleaned the Deli on most nights which included cleaning rotisserie ovens, oil fryers, meat slicers, cheese slicers, dating food that was to be sold the next day, and organizing food tray orders to be made the next day.

Positions held include:Deli Associate: Took orders from customers, sliced meat, prepared sandwich orders Operated and loaded the Rotisserie Oven, operated back-room fryer, prepared food for special orders and hot case. Electronics Sales Associate: Worked the sales floor helping customers with various questions and assisting them with purchases, stocked freight, operated the photo center, and provided customer assistance at the wireless center.
