-Primarily tests cannabis samples for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury on an Agilent 7700 ICP-MS.-Utilizes microwave digestion for sample prep (familiar with Milestone SRC and Mars rotor microwaves).-Prepares samples, calibrates instrumentation, and enters/reviews test results.-Performs troubleshooting/maintenance, including changing peristaltic pump tubing, unclogging nebulizers, cleaning cones, changing gas cylinders/dewars, preparing standards, doing dilutions, etc.-Interviews candidates and trains other chemists in trace metals analysis.-Is responsible for all chemical receiving, including managing SDS's and COA's.-Monitors metals results, communicating with clients to pinpoint sources of contamination.-Tests soil, coco, catridges, water sources, pesticides, and more to troubleshoot elevated results.-Developed a low-chloride microwave digestion method to promote cone and detector health.-Is trained to test samples for 14 different cannabinoids by HPLC.

-Standardized and wrote procedures for organoleptic testing, loss on drying (LOD), and FTIR.-Self-taught operation and maintenance of HPTLC for identification of botanicals and botanical extracts.-Used water activity to assess risk of microbial growth and predict sample stability.-Streamlined sample testing by implementing 5S principles in the lab and helping go paperless.-Performed daily calibration and testing on ICP-MS for the analysis of solid samples utilizing microwave acid digestion.-Tested samples at each stage of production for trace metal contamination as well as mineral content.-Abided by CGMP regulations as enforced by the FDA.
