In 1995 I had a paragliding accident which left me a wheelchair user.In 1998 I had my first experience of skiing sitting down and this changed my life. I scaled back my professional career as a Patent Attorney to focus on becoming a ski racer!Following an accident prior to the Alpine Skiing World Championships in 2004 I retired from ski racing, but concentrated on developing my skills as an instructor.In 2005 I became GB's first wheelchair using BASI Adaptive qualified ski instructor.I have been continuously involved in disability skiing since 1998, first as a racer, then as a board member of disability snowsport UK and then Development Officer for the BDST. More recently I have taken a full time role as BDST Team Manager.Specialties: Overcoming setbacks and turning them into opportunities...Currently involved in formulating and driving a new 4 - year plan for the disabled ski team to return from Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympics with medals.
