- Lead origination activity of Project and Infrastructure Finance solutions in the UK and Europe.- Support the renewables and green financing credentials of the bank.- Build strong lasting relationships with clients, investment community and advisers.- Identify and support cross-sell opportunities to provide comprehensive and compelling finance offerings to clients.

- Origination of Project and infrastructure Finance solutions (sectors include: Power, Renewables (current focus on Offshore wind), Regulated Assets, Petrochemicals, Waste and Water, Rail, MoD, Hospitals and Telecoms).- Preparation of credit/investment papers for credit committee approval for debt mandates, including conducting due diligence on project documentation, financial models (sensitivity analysis), contract structures and related counterparties / stakeholders.- Building and maintaining strong long term relationships with the business / investment community (clients, sponsors, advisers and financial institutions).- Ongoing portfolio management and monitoring of assets post financial close to identify and actively manage project risks as they arise.- Identify opportunities for the bank to provide other financial services which meet the clients requirements (Hedging / interest rate swaps, deposits, corporate financing arrangements, bond origination).

- Co-ordinating sales activity by producing Credit papers for submission and approval, deal economics analysis and negotiations with clients. - Manage the resolution of Risk and Control issues through implementation of action plans.- Day to day management of a portfolio of Export Trade Finance assets backed by Export Credit Agencies or with government guarantees, including aircrafts, municipal infrastructure projects and supplier services to emerging markets.

• Responsibility for the Credit risk and portfolio management for Aerospace sector assets, including airlines, airports and airport support service clients totalling over £750m TPA as well as support colleagues with infrastructure assets in the bus and rail sector. Recent transaction experience includes; Edinburgh Airport, British Airways, Go-Ahead Group and a regulated gas distribution pipeline in the UK. • Support coverage colleagues with potential transactions across the infrastructure space providing PM viewpoint and credit risk advice on clients, documentation and structuring of transaction. • Active monitoring of case names through reviews, credit system updates, waivers and client liaison.

- Co-ordination, analytical and operational support for strategic internal projects/initiatives to “run-off” the banking book. - Development of the Business Plan and Financial models for the EMEA businesses (Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, Structured Asset Finance, Shipping, Housing and RMBS)- Providing regular and ad-hoc Management Information and reports for Senior Management decision support.- Liaise with Finance, Group Legal and structuring teams/advisers to co-ordinate divisional initiatives.- Central management of TPA and Basel II RWA forecasts for the business.- Provide support and cover for Asset Protection Scheme reporting for the business.- Ensure compliance with agreed practices, FSA and Group Internal Audit.

SCALE AND SCOPE• Responsibility alongside a Director for the risk and relationship management for 30 project case names and sole responsibility for a further 7 projects across Europe with total RBS limits in excess of £1bn across the PFI and Infrastructure sectors of Transport (Rail & Road), Education (Primary/Secondary), Healthcare (Hospitals), Waste Management, Prison services and Defence. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT• Maintain regular updates of project performance and key issues through TA reports, client contact and attendance of site visits to build on client relationships & assess project progress.• Handle every aspect of distressed case names both internally and through meetings with clients, syndicate banks and legal advisors, including negotiation of exit strategy if required.• Perform annual credit reviews on respective cases for assessment of risk and calculation of credit grades and Basel II factors (LGD).• Working in partnership with origination teams, maximise income opportunities through facility waivers, refinancings, restructurings, secondary origination.• Build and effectively manage relationships with syndicate banks from both Agency (17 case names) and participant perspectives as well as project companies and sponsors. CREDIT MANAGEMENT• Accurate completion of Risk Assessment Reports within internal Credit Management system for case names allowing management to review cases effectively, covenant compliance, monitor project progress both financially and future outlook.• Support with Watch cases and off-colour case names where events of default, lack of management information or Adverse Material Events are present or prevailing.• Financial model assessment and analysis of case names against budget, forecasts and covenant compliance.• Review management information acceptability against Credit agreement undertakings.• Annual credit review reporting for transactions (i.e.involving SPVs and complex structures).
