CurrentPSC at Muja Power StationThe position of Power Station Controller at Muja Power Station is a combination of three different rotational roles, which is rotated between all the controllers on shift cycles. This requires me to hold and maintain High Risk Work Licences for Boiler and Turbine operations, as well as Western-Power switching authority. In addition, I am part of the Emergency Response Team and other work groups relating to H&S, Training and PSM. 1.Permit officer and shift leaderIsolating mechanical and electrical plant and issue maintenance access permits to maintenance staff and doubles as shift team leader which is responsible for afterhours production decision making.2.Unit controllerOperate and control any one of the Stage CD units which consists of 2x200Mw coal fired boilers with Parsons Turbines or 2x220Mw Units with Toshiba Turbines in compliance with safe, efficient and environmental policies and procedures. Also do remote switching on High voltage apparatus as required by system control or as required by the station electrical reticulation.3.Outside plant dutiesOperate and control all auxiliary plant relating to the generating plant and assist the permit officer and unit controllers for the safe operating activities relating to unit movements and safe systems of work.
