I have been at OK Machine & Manufacturing since April, 1996. OK Machine and Manufacturing was started by Joseph Strobel in 1904 to provide general machine work, equipment repair and blacksmithing to the Tulsa area before Oklahoma statehood. Glenn Strobel, current owner of OK Machine, who was raised in the business and whose heritage was already 75 years in the making, immediately recognized the need to lead the trend in the modernization of machining and manufacturing technology. Accordingly, Glenn was one of the first to introduce computer controlled machining to the market. He also capitalized on his numerous and prestigious industrial relationships to begin providing them with more sophisticated machining solutions. He upgraded the welding department in order to continue to serve the higher demands required by new codes and standards. As his customer’s requirements for larger, heavier and higher complexity parts became more prevalent, Glenn purchased larger capacity equipment; and trained his staff to operate them efficiently and accurately.Never satisfied with the status quo, and over 40 years as President, Glenn continues to redefine the business in order to best serve the markets and customer relationships that have been developed over a century. The world has changed a lot in the past 100 years, and so has OK Machine. Now, in a new 61,000 sq. ft. facility, with a staff whose average tenure is over 12 years, and with more of the latest technology machines to be installed this year, Glenn is again re-engineering the business for a new generation in order to extend OK Machine’s service record into the next 100 years.
