The company operates a fleet of over 1800 vehicles throughout the UK. My role is to manage the HGV & light commercial fleet throughout Wales and support the Fleet department in Liverpool with any assistance in inductions, vehicle handovers/inspections vehicle technical/queries/repairs. My duties are to organise HGV vehicle/plant inspections with the hire companies whilst minimising any effect on the business and to ensure all operator licence requirements are adhered to and drivers’ hours both EU & GB Domestic are correct. Carry out driver inductions, training requirements such as “drivers CPC’s” qualification, trailer towing familiarisation & crane qualification. I am heavily involved in investigating insurance claims and driving complaints to Identifying employees who would require one to one practical training and qualified to carry out driver assessments on light commercial vehicles.

I was employed on a 6-month contract to cover sickness as the 2nd Transport Manager and named on the Operator’s Licence. My key area was to ensure Fleet maintenance was compliant and supporting the main Transport Manger in all other duties associated with the department. The maintenance is carried out in house through a dedicated workshop. I had a major role in the writing of the authorities Operator Licence Policy. I was heavily involved in the audit carried out by the FTA as requested by the Traffic Commissioner. At the request of the Traffic commissioner, I completed and passed a CPC refresher course carried out by Logistics UK

2006 to 2018During my role at Centregreat which boasts a wealth of knowledge in street lighting, utilities, traffic Signals, engineering and refrigeration across bases in Wales and Scotland, I managed the Servicing, maintenance and testing of both HGV 50+/ 300 LCV commercial vehicles, plant/trailers and tools within in house workshops and 3rd party partners controlled by “Fleetcheck” software and the use of TISWEB to analyse digital & analogue tachographs. To meet all legal requirements, driver's rules and regulations, correct driving licences and testing of ancillary equipment fitted.Scheduling and programming the fleet to meet both legal and company requirements. Purchasing for the fleet and the correct specification to meet requirements of our activities. Purchasing parts, tyres, oils, garage equipment, fuel, and vehicle tracking.
