Lead Aeronautical Information Specialist
CurrentServes as a Lead for Flight Procedures Team, AJV-W240, reports to the OSG Flight Procedures Team Manager. Expected to perform work independently resolving potentially controversial/sensitive issues. Work conclusions/recommendations accepted as technically authoritative.Performs multiple complex assignments with minimal direction. Provides Instrument Flight Procedure (IFP) program insight. Handles IFP production flow through Service Center, focusing on scheduling, deadlines, technical document review, daily IFP change requests, and answering correspondence. Advises manager on program responsibilities. Coordinates with AJV-A/Flight Inspection on schedule. Acts as focal point for specialist workflow/project distribution. Ensures compliance with Service Center production allotment. Performs tasks associated with IFP feasibility determinations. May need to perform duties relating to: design, development and maintenance of IFPs/lFP publications; coordination/integration of IFPs in the NAS; and collection/verification of aeronautical data. Serves as advisor to other LOBs on IFP projects in assigned area.Applies experience, technical knowledge, and software skills, to solve complex problems and develop improved processes. Considers objectives of major subdivision and LOB/SO when developing, integrating/implementing problem solutions.Assignments require knowledge and experience working across functional/organizational lines. Assignments may include system design/integration; research/analyses; investigation activities; compliance enforcement; and direct responsibility for project/program management. Serves as principle advisor to manager for large project/work group members and provides technical direction/oversight for project implementation. Serves as technical specialist with responsibility for planning, sequencing, directing, and evaluating assigned projects for the National Airspace System {NAS).
