St Patrick's College is a co-educational, year 7-12 Catholic College located in Launceston. In 2001, there were 980 students, approximately 270 computers and 2 IT staff. In 2015 this had grown to approx. 1500 students, 1350 College-owned computers (including over 1000 laptops) and 4 full-time IT staff. Responsibilities:• Management of IT facilities, equipment and staff;• Oversee system administration and support;• Undertake server and network administration; and• Perform database development and administration.Key Achievements:• Successful management of an ICT environment comprising approximately 1350 College-owned desktops and laptops, along with associated server and network infrastructure and peripherals;• Successful implementation of the Middle School iPad Project to over 550 BYO devices in 2015;• Development and implementation of the College’s Strategic IT Plan during the Digital Education Revolution;• Being instrumental in the creation of the Tasmanian Independent Schools IT (TISIT) group for sharing knowledge and experience among similar schools;• In 2014, successful management of the migration from physical server infrastructure, based on Apple Xserve, Mac OS X Server and Open Directory to virtualised infrastructure based on HP servers, VMware, Windows Server 2008R2/Windows Server 2012 and Active Directory; and• Management of several medium and large-scale ICT projects with capital expenditure values between $35,000 and $800,000.
