 Worked on a wide variety of projects from new build (including residential at Glasgow Harbour, residential and office blocks at Anderston Glasgow, Student Accommodation Dundee, and Winn Studios Newcastle), refurbishment (including the recent cladding and insulation of the tower blocks in and around Glasgow and Newcastle), upgrade and maintenance of Corus plant at Redcar, and the asbestos removal and demolition of the Red Roads Flats.  Familiar with most forms of Building Contracts… Show more  Worked on a wide variety of projects from new build (including residential at Glasgow Harbour, residential and office blocks at Anderston Glasgow, Student Accommodation Dundee, and Winn Studios Newcastle), refurbishment (including the recent cladding and insulation of the tower blocks in and around Glasgow and Newcastle), upgrade and maintenance of Corus plant at Redcar, and the asbestos removal and demolition of the Red Roads Flats.  Familiar with most forms of Building Contracts, including JCT and NEC. Experience of working in partnership with large-scale private companies (including Wates, ROK, Taylor Woodrow) and local councils / housing associations. Building relationships with preferred contractors and key suppliers. Familiar with all Office products. Regularly required to communicate at both site and director level.  Tender vetting and completion (for both private and public sector projects). Contract / order vetting and drafting letter of acceptance. Procurement of sub-contractors and services. Management of procurement process, ensure procurement strategy is followed Enforce compliance with procurement strategy. Develop procurement strategy to ensure sustainability and best value for money. Produce monthly valuations. Ensure all variations are notified and charged. Review provisions for disputes and ageing debts. Produce final valuation and negotiate final account. Dispute resolution. Monitor and report on costs for contract duration. Debt Management. Monthly auditing to ensure that decisions are being made within the company framework (sign off limits on contracts etc.) Provide month end support and assistance to Finance Manager as required. Frequent travel throughout Scotland and the North of England to carry out site visits and audits.
