Profile bio

About David Clarke

I have extensive project management and operations experience in the energy industry. In my most recent role I led a multi discipline team of around 30 project, subsurface, drilling, environmental, regulatory, safety and operations engineers plus finance, on the front end evaluation of a very complex $4 billion program, which had multiple projects and phases. I have managed short and long term strategic planning initiatives; led multiple performance improvement reviews; and have a track record of developing innovative solutions to unlock uncompetitive developments. One project which I led won a BP Chairman’s Innovation award for a number of bold innovative technical and commercial ideas that allowed what was originally a sub marginal project to achieve commercial and technical success. I am very familiar with the challenges of managing major projects having worked on some of the largest and most complex projects in the US and internationally. I also have extensive experience working with multiple stakeholders (internal company functions, regulatory agencies, partners and 3rd party operators) and with various engineering companies. I have made numerous technical and financial presentations to C-suite executive management, corporate review teams and government agencies. I am a highly motivated leader who excels in problem solving and facilitating diverse teams to excel and to arrive at good business decisions. I have a strong work ethic, am an excellent team player and have strong communication skills enhanced by an ability to illustrate, organize and present technical information. Specialties: General Management, Business Operations, Finance and Planning, Corporate Development, Strategy and Analysis, Negotiations, Metrics and Reporting, Technology Evaluations, Front End Loading for Onshore and Offshore Oil & Gas Projects, Project Management, Team Building, Content Delivery, Change Management.

Listed skills include Upstream, Energy Industry, Petroleum, Oil And Gas, and 31 others.

President And Chief Operations Officer

Current
Qilak Lng

Established a North American subsidiary of Dubai based Lloyds Energy to develop Near Shore LNG projects in the North American Arctic.Currently evaluating the viability of a near-shore LNG project in the US Arctic, with liquefaction capacity between 4 and 6 MTPA. LNG export will be year-round through Arctic waters and via the Bering Strait direct to Asia markets using ice-breaking LNG carriers. This development concept eliminates the need to build an expensive long-distance pipeline to ice free waters and thereby significantly reduces the cost of developing an LNG project in Arctic waters. As a result of extensive networking with State and Federal officials, government agencies and key stakeholders have obtained widespread support for the concept. In the process of securing gas supply agreements and project financing.

Director Of Engineering

Current

Alaska has world class renewable energy resources (offshore wind, tidal, geothermal) with 95 GW in the Cook Inlet alone. Given the relatively small demand of the local grid, this energy is essentially "stranded" unless new export markets can be found for the power. AMP has been evaluating the potential of using this renewable energy for the production of a range of eFuels both for the domestic and export markets. Current focus is on overcoming the challenge of the wind's intermittency and the requirement to supply a steady supply of hydrogen to an eFuels plant. AMP has been working with the National Laboratories to investigate the feasibility of storing a buffer supply of hydrogen in depleted gas reservoirs.
