I am an engineering geologist with over 20 years experience and have worked for several leading civil engineering and mining consultancies/ companies. I have been a Chartered Geologist since 2004. I am currently working as the Company Representative for a ground investigation on the Gandharbpur Water Treatment Project in Bangladesh having recently completed work in Uganda as the geotechnical QC Supervisor for an oilfield development project. Prior to this I was working offshore in the Baltic as the Client Representative for an investigation involving coring and CPT and, the PMC representative for a ground investigation and reclamation works in Kuwait. In the recent past I was the geotechnical manager for an oilfield development project in Iraq and, the company representative for both a port investigation in Kazakhstan and a bridge investigation in Venezuela. I have also worked in the mining sector undertaking geotechnical analysis of deep boreholes in Zambia and managing the geotechnical department of an exploratory mine in Guinea.I have wide experience in the preparation, supervision and finalisation of geotechnical investigations; geotechnical logging; geomorphological and face mapping; rock and soil slope stability walkovers; slope stability analysis; landslide risk assessments; rockfall prevention and protection measures; implementing HSE site procedures and Company Safety Standards; and, the mentoring of local geologists in geotechnical logging. I have also supervised offshore ground investigations in the UK, Arabian Gulf, Baltic Sea, Kazakhstan and Venezuela and, contributed to a wide variety of projects including landslide management and stabilisation, offshore structures, roads, bridges, tunnels and mining exploration. In addition to working in the UK, I have worked in Algeria, Bangladesh, Guinea, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, St Helena, UAE and Venezuela. I have proven to be able to work as part of a team and independently in some very remote places.
