Joined Kooomo Saas Ltd. in January 2021, continuing my career in e-commerce, heading up their engineering team. I lead a team of about 18, across front end, back end and infrastructure, with the assistance of 2 technical team leads. The role involves organising projects, dealing with both internal and external stakeholders, managing incoming issues, implementing best practices and establishing the engineering culture.

Worked as Application Owner/Scrum Master, on the team that handles the public facing website, with specific responsibility for the cart and checkout, as well as order integration with our backend systems. Architected a new micro-service, which talks to 3 other internal systems, and managed the delivery of that across several teams. I primarily worked with a team of 17 engineers (mix of front-end, back-end and QA), based in 3 locations and timezones, managing aspects of their work on various parts of the cart/checkout/payment and some ancillary microservices.On the scrum mastering side, I liaised closely with 2 Product Owners and a Software Development Manager, allocating tasks, lifting blockers (both technical and otherwise), dealing with non-technical stakeholders and running Scrum ceremonies. We worked in an Agile enivornment, in a Scrumban format, having tried both Scrum and Kanban in the past.To help with my this role, I received Scrum Master training and am now a Certified Scrum Master. I also successfully completed an in-house management course, covering 4 modules of project management.I originally joined as a back-end PHP developer, working with Magento, but did also front-end work, including implementing the company's initial steps to use KnockoutJS.I was later promoted to Tech Lead of our offshore team, handling Scrum ceremonies, releases and general development lifecycle issues. Delivered a big project to Production without a single issue, involving 6 months of work, with the team of 7 developers working remotely in Vietnam, as well as changes to 3 other in-house systems, resulting in increased revenues week-on-week.

Joined as Lead Developer, primarily working on their PHP-based website. Key projects included redesigning their imaging infrastructure by using and tweaking an open-source software package that integrates with AWS, modernizing the image uploader, building & designing the mobile site, adding customer payments, adding newspaper publishing, building automated testing infrastructure and more.

Primarily worked on their goMobi tool, which was a web-based interface to build mobile-optimized websites. Written in PHP using Propel, I worked on both the Control Panel to set-up the site, as well as the mobile templates themselves. Also worked on their backend admin system, including writing a large suite to make it easier for people to sell the goMobi product.

Worked on a large number of projects, both team and individual based. Projects ranged from launching fully blown websites such as Rent.ie or Daft.pl, to an overhaul of our mapping system or writing a mini API (for Daft.pl). Also maintained a number of in-house systems. Developed an Implementation & Test Plan document, for use by projects to plan deployment and reduce bugs.

Joined as part of their graduate program. Worked on a variety of different projects, progressing to level 2 (out of 3) developer after 1 year. Roles invloved requirements specification and extraction, analysis, design, programming, testing (both unit and system) and implemetation, as well as documenting all the above and interacting with the business side.
