About David Collins

I have been leading First Derivative as Chief Executive Officer since July 2020, where I am responsible for driving the business and shaping the company’s strategic vision and objectives. First Derivative employs approximately 1800 across 16 global locations, driving innovation and growth worldwide. Personally, I thrive on innovation, change and problem solving. I have two passions in business: the first, applying cutting edge technology to business problems to create differentiated solutions. The second, a strong desire to modernise the way we work and drive more gender diversity into business; not by ticking boxes but through empowerment and development. Last year I was very proud to win ‘Male Advocate of the Year’ award at The Women in Business Awards 2023.Prior to First Derivative, I held several senior positions, including Managing Director at GFT Group London, Chief Marketing Officer at SuperDerivatives Inc., Partner and Global Head of Technology Trading at Capco, and CEO of City Practitioners Inc. in New York. These roles have equipped me with deep expertise in leading organizations through significant change and achieving strategic growth.
