CurrentGained Deputy Minister (CEO) approval to spearhead the establishment of the Office of the Chief Data Officer (CDO), which employs 10 FTEs and is now recognized as a Centre of Expertise across multiple government departments. Ideated, presented, and built consensus around the departmental data strategy, before seeking and securing funding for operations and salary via numerous internal and GOC funding sources.> Provided strategic guidance and leadership to business units within the Office of the CDO to deliver the departmental data strategy.> Supported CDO in strategizing centralized service delivery of advanced analytics by leveraging AI, ML, and rules-as-code methods.> Worked with key stakeholders within the Office of the CIO to develop technology solutions such as an enterprise data hub, serving as the product owner responsible for communicating requirements on behalf of lines of business across the department.> Built and maintained effective partnerships across GOC departments and agencies, private organizations, industry associations, academic institutions, and Indigenous Peoples’ organizations, fostering a collaborative approach for data sharing and initiatives. > Planned and oversaw the execution of a departmental data literacy and change management strategy, including the establishment of a centralized Data Centre portal for sharing key data policies, standards, information, training, data platforms, and other tools.> Led the development of investment plans to support the data strategy and the data components of new initiatives and programs. > Established a well-defined organizational structure and recruited talented staff including data analysts for the Department and Office.> Participated in the creation of proof of concepts to demonstrate AI capabilities and improve service delivery and decision making.
