Supervised a group of six developers working on an electric utility metering software product. Full life cycle from design through development to bug fixing and maintenance. In addition to writing Visual C++ code, responsibilities included preparing design specifications for other engineers to implement, interfacing with customers, traveling to help customers upgrade or install the software, scheduling and organizing tasks for engineers to complete, and mentoring junior engineers and interns. The Utility Metering software known as Active Energy Management (AEM) is a fully web-enabled product that runs in a web browser. AEM was designed with a COM+ business tier, Web GUI, and a SQL Server database. AEM was used to monitor actual energy usage by customers in a real-time environment, and to do online billing and payment to a Utility Company.

Develop the WAH-64 Longbow Apache Attack Helicopter Mission Planner, a $6M fixed price contract to develop and provide a Windows NT/Visual C++ application to Aerosystems International (AeI). Responsibilities include coding software units in C++, using MFC, performing software integration, testing and debugging, designing software units in UML using Rational Rose, and preparing user instructions and documentation. Specific accomplishments include writing the Mission Planner Prototype using Microsoft Visual C++ and MFC classes. Worked closely with the lead engineer from AeI to ensure all requirements for the Mission Planner are met. Gave several presentations to an audience of engineers, military specialists, and program managers in order to demonstrate the final product to our customers.
