Throughout my own educational experiences I always thought to myself or asked the questions: Why am I learning this? When will I use this? How will this impact me? Well, as it turned out, I became passionate about helping students find the answers to those same questions and teaching students how their education has value beyond the grade. Becoming a high school business teacher, I focus on providing students with authentic experiences so that they are able to connect their learning beyond the classroom. Creating connections with community partners, engaging students with project-based learning opportunities and providing students an environment where their learning can become real has been my vision for the business classroom and each day guides my teaching to make sure that I am able to continue to answer those questions that I had when I was a student.
