After working for many crane companies for several years, I began subcontracting as a crane operator, across many sites throughout the country. Notable jobs include Felixstowe Dock Reconfiguration, and Bond Street Underground Station-part of the CrossRail project. I'm that time I gained my hours on crawler cranes of all sizes along with regular work on tower cranes complying with LOLER and PUWER regulations. Between projects I regularly work for Heathwood Truck & Van in Norwich, a recognised Mercedes-Benz specialist as a mechanical technician on HGV/LGV vehicles

Having taken a short break from full time work to complete my tower crane operator training I began work as a tower crane operator. In this position I gained my 500 hours as a competent operator and many more. My roles included general operation of both saddle jib and luffing jib tower cranes. I've worked in close proximity to other tower cranes, plant machinery and buildings. Taking instruction from banksmen via both radio communication and visually using hand signals. Complying with LOLER lifting regulations and PUWER work equipment regulations. I completed my apprenticeship with Mercedes-Benz through Orwell Truck & Van in Norwich, maintaining and repairing HGV and LGV vehicles. I worked on all aspects of the vehicles from the engine & transmission to the electrical systems. I am also experienced with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
