I serve as CTO and CISO at Socially Determined, where we're developing important ways of understanding the impact of social risk on healthcare utilization, costs and outcomes. I am responsible for our HITRUST-certified infrastructure and how it enables our data science, product development and analytics teams to serve our clients.

I have the pleasure of serving as Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer in contracted engagements for thought-leading healthcare startups in the Washington, DC market. I lead efforts to establish IT Security policies and work habits that exceed HIPAA and HITECH Act privacy and security requirements for Business Associates. I work with IT architecture teams to plan, design, implement and operate secure systems for processing sensitive data safely and in compliance of federal and state regulations. I help organizations establish formal compliance programs to meet CMS requirements for Medicare plan businesses. I enjoy serving in executive capacities and opportunities to build and motivate high-performance teams of IT architects, data scientists, and application developers to drive meaningful business growth.

I had the pleasure of serving as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Security Officer at Socially Determined, leading the company to HITRUST Certification.Socially Determined is constructing the science around the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), enabling payers and health care systems to gain competitive advantage by understanding social risk impact on utilization and costs. Our secure SocialScape platform delivers innovative analytics to payer and healthcare system executives to drive meaningful business decisions, investments, and partnerships.I had the pleasure of building and leading our technical organization as we collect and analyze hundreds of millions of datapoints spanning public and private data sources. I was responsible for establishing critical technology partnerships with industry, including Amazon Web Services, and the nation's largest healthcare organizations, academic research communities, and stakeholders of public sector agencies. As an independent consultant I had the privilege of working with a variety of organizations devising technical strategies, creating winning technical proposals with awards reaching $100M, and examining factors contributing to organizational performance. I served as a subcontractor to the Gallup Organization, Wolf Den Associates, and other contracting organizations serving US Government agencies. I had the unique pleasure of working directly with senior officers from the US Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and Department of Justice.
