Led a team of Customs and Immigration officers through a period of transition for HMGs drive to bring to two legacy organisations together to for a multi-skilled work force, Initially merging HMC&E with the Revenue to form HMRC. Responsible for investigating the importation of controlled drugs, investigating, gathering and collating evidence, preparing and presenting casework to progress matters through the courts to jury trial.

Court Liaison officer responsible for the presentation and prosecution of summary matters at the magistrate’s court with conduct until committal to the higher (Crown) court. I Conducted a far reaching high review the court procedures when new legislation changed the method in which the department presented its evidence (CPIA) which directly lead to a root and branch overhaul of the department’s prosecution seat by merging many of the administrative tasks.I pioneered the introduction of a prosecutions database which led to me designing an improved court results reporting system and introduced a progressive new filing system that defined and recorded results down by ‘type’ prosecution and overhauled the way that daily court files were prepared I re wrote the seat instructions so that in my absence another officer could step in and follow steps to prepare cases on a daily basis. I liaised with the department’s solicitor’s office to ensure by in ensuring that my systems were conducive with the larger prosecution part of the business. My business case brought local access to the departments prosecutions database the first time that it had been allowed access outside of headquarters which speeded up the time for court results to be made available to interested stakeholders. I frequently represented the business at legislation meetings and was responsible for the design and implementation of the Advance Information document which is used in every prosecution the whole business and attended court daily as a Criminal Advocate to present new prosecution cases from first appearance through to committal, this included opposing bail applications.
