I was transferred across from Threadneedle under a TUPE agreement. I was assigned to the Threadneedle account as a Senior Solaris System Administrator. My responsibilities included BAU support and the migration of the UNIX estate to new data centres, in London.

Management and support of all Solaris environments (Solaris 8, 9, 10). Installation and Upgrades: Solaris, Veritas and third party products. Shell scripting for task automation and BAU housekeeping. Disk management via Veritas Volume Manager, SVM and ZFS.

Management and support of all Sybase environments (Sybase ASE 11.9.2 thru 12.5). Installation and Upgrades. Task automation and BAU scripting.

Combined role of Solaris System Administrator and Sybase DBA. Installation and Upgrades, Shell scripting, BAckups, DBCC, Update Stats etc. Disk management. Work assignments in USA and Germany.

Responsible for all aspects of maintaining a large multi-domain environment. MVS, VM and CICS Systems Programmer.
