David Corwin entered the world of legal recruiting in 2004. Prior to founding Corwin Legal Search, he worked for seven years with a top legal recruiting firm. David has placed attorneys throughout the country, at all levels, from senior partners to junior associates, at firms big, medium and small. He has also placed numerous attorneys at in-house positions. David came to recruiting following a highly successful practice as an intellectual property litigator. After working for seven years as a litigation associate in large firms in California and Massachusetts, David represented entertainment clients at a prestigious Los Angeles entertainment boutique. Among other engagements, David brought an action against Napster on behalf of two prominent musical entities. David was then hired by the Motion Picture Association of America as Senior Counsel, Worldwide Antipiracy, where he was responsible for overseeing motion picture studios' litigation matters and strategy, both nationally and internationally.David graduated from Columbia College in New York, and Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude. Following law school, he clerked for United States District Court Judge Edward J. Garcia in the Eastern District of California. David has been a frequent lecturer at professional functions, colleges and law schools on the subject of copyright law. He is also a prolific author on many subjects and has published articles in several national law reviews. Most recently, David published Contributory Copyright Liability in Napster Versus Grokster: A Distinction Without A Difference in the Loyola Entertainment Law Review.
