Edited scientific manuscripts from non-native English-speaking researchers to correct grammar, syntax, punctuation, and content clarity to improve likelihood of acceptance into American scientific journals and publications.

Shared project in the laboratories of Thom LaBean and Steve Craig. Exploited DNA nanotechnology as well as chemistry and biomolecular engineering to develop novel strain sensors and fluorescent reporters for use in studying organic and inorganic systems. Physical properties of the sensor domains were tested via atomic force microscopy.

Laboratory of Ronald Rock. Primary work studied how complex intracellular structures form and disassemble (actin cytoskeleton) both through experiment and computational modeling. Developed new microfluidic techniques and new single-molecule microscopy assays. Participated in numerous collaborations.

Part of a four person committee that organized a meeting of the ASBMB in Chicago on August 21, 2010. The meeting specifically targeted graduate students and postdocs from the region and included research presentations, a poster session, and career development seminars. ~120 participants.

Course consisted of advanced training in various microscopy techniques, computational analysis and modeling, and biochemical laboratory techniques. Efforts here resulted in the acquisition of many skills and a publication in the journal Science.

Laboratory of Elizabeth Grove, Departments of Neurobiology and Cancer Biology. Mouse and Chicken model systems. Managed the mouse colony including mouse husbandry and selective crossing. Applied in ovo electroporation, in situ hybridization, and immunohistochemistry to study cortical map development.

Part-time. Developed specific programs for each client. Organized and taught three group classes (triathlon, distance running, and nutrition for endurance athletes). Gave regular lectures on health, nutrition, and strategies for endurance racers.

Summers Only. Developed and directed residential programs for summer students. Responsible for student safety and welfare.

Organizer of the "Freshman Day of Service" for Orientation week. Arranged a single day event with simultaneous service projects at 32 sites throughout Baltimore, involving all 1000 incoming students. Secured all requisite supplies, transportation, and donations to cover food for all students. Led the orientation session before the event began. Project generated more than 6000 man hours of service for the city of Baltimore and local charities.
