Responsibilities: R&D Engineering Management, Personnel management, Program leadership and execution, Engineering and Technical leadership, Strategy development with executive team, Budget creation & management - Lead, direct, develop, and implement new product development and technology strategy. At IOTA I led the change of core technical capabilities that prepared the organization for future success and directed the development of new product lines. I participated with industry leaders outside the organization to define and develop new industry standards for new technologies. I defined the new technology roadmap, developed, and implemented effective R&D processes, and raised-the-bar for product reliability & design quality. I interviewed & hired new talent and led the R&D capability build-up to create a high-performance engineering team to design, develop, and create new innovative products. I managed the R&D-Customer Development effort for new product definitions. I directed and managed the efforts to build new engineering labs and facilities for more effective R&D capabilities. I applied my experience and knowledge to advance the organization’s Electrical Engineering practices and shape the future of R&D capabilities to implement NPD strategies/activities. These efforts led to great results. The organization moved into an industry leadership position, with first-to-market with many technologies, winning the organization’s first ever innovation award, leading the industry into new technology frontiers, and acquired several patents.
