Since 1997 I’ve been a drafter, designer and 3D modeller of construction documents. It’s been a fascinating journey with so many interesting projects along the way. While most of my career has been spent designing the layouts of industrial equipment in manufacturing environments, or the support steel and buildings around them, there are definitely some more exciting personal projects that included facility design & equipment layout: ▪ NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (lab facility) ▪ Carpenter Specialty Steel mill and rotary forge in northern Alabama ▪ TVA’s Paradise Fossil Plant (electricity generation) ▪ juvenile detention centers (regional jails/courts) ▪ Nissan Electric Vehicle Battery plant ▪ Dell Computer Manufacturing Plant ▪ United Record Press (vinyl record production) ▪ Raytheon Missile Systems engine testing facility ▪ Opryland Hotel and Convention Center post-flood assessment ▪ Bridgestone North America Tire manufacturingNeedless to say, it’s been such a joy to see so many varieties of locations and equipment over the years. Moving forward, an ideal and productive position could include creating: 3D models, construction sheet layouts, assembly detail views, tooling/testing fixture designs, machinery designs, equipment layouts, model component libraries, drawing archives, initial conceptual designs, or whatever new adventure the clients come up with.I can’t wait to find new things to see, design and help create in the coming years with my next team!
