A newly established leadership position designed to turn around a significantly challenged development program with strained customer relationships and complex contractual challenges. Responsible for achieving program goals and objectives while developing tools and processes to be used for future large programs managed at the Group level. This development program represents $650m in sales across four divisions providing the primary hydraulic system, integrated fuel system, integrated lighting system, and gear box chip detection system. Successfully turned 3 of the 4 programs from “red” to “green” within the first four months while making significant progress on resolving production and technical challenges with the hydraulic power system.

Provide leadership to a global sales team of 75 professionals. Developed and implemented an organizational strategy to support growth from $750m to $1.8b while integrating sales resources from three acquisitions. Developed processes and metrics as needed to achieve orders required to support operational plans for 4 divisions and 25 manufacturing sites. Offset impacts of challenging market environments by accelerating growth in high margin aftermarket segments and implementing growth strategies with our distribution partners.

Us

Responsible for the profit and loss of a business that designed and manufactured electromechanical cargo system products. Successfully took this business from early stage start up to $13.5m in annual revenue utilizing a supplemental type certificate strategy to bring new products to market. Expanded the business customer base globally with a strong presence in Asia and Europe. Implemented a strategic alliance resulting in an OEM contract to support the Boeing 747 Freighter aircraft. Managed the business through stages of growth by assembling a leadership team, moving the business to a green field facility, implementing an MRP system, and deploying lean manufacturing processes.

Us

Provided leadership to a team of mechanical, structural, electrical and design engineers. Successfully completed development programs ranging from electro mechanical actuators, to significant aircraft modification programs. Acted as the lead systems engineer during the cargo system development program that resulted in the establishment of the Division noted above. Continued to strengthen my relationship with the FAA and became a designated engineering representative with full approval authority.

Lead engineer responsible for the DC and Emergency Power System on the MD-11 aircraft providing leadership to a team of 7 engineers. Developed procurement specifications for 6 unique electrical power and lighting system related products. Represented engineering on the source selection board and became the Cognizant Engineer leading these products through the stages of development and into production.
