Instrument Craftsman
Current•Successfully performed the supervisory role for numerous turnarounds and during supervisor’s absence during vacation.• Considered instrumentation subject matter expert due to knowledge, experience, and industry expertise.• Lead instrument craftsman in department.• Maintain and repair of instrumentation, analyzers and control systems throughout the Lake Charles Refinery and Excel Paralubes.• Knowledgeable of the HoneyWell Distributive Control System (DCS).Broad knowledge of general plant instrumentation including transmitters, process switches, control valves, distributed controls system (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC) and analytical instrumentation.• Knowledgeable and proficient at testing Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), critical alarms (CA), safe operating limits (SOL), and process interlock systems (PIS).• Follow and abide by safety, maintenance, and operating procedures.• Handle and resolve complex maintenance and process problems.• Develop shutdown and turnaround maintenance and planning activities.• Prepare and plan jobs and materials required for instrumentation maintenance activities.• Assist others in root cause analysis of mechanical and instrument failures; helped communicate findings for final documentation.• Working knowledge of process and instrument diagrams (P&ID’s), schematics, loop drawings, electrical diagrams, control diagrams.• Work closely with operations and engineering to solve process and control issues throughout refinery.
