Before my formal retirement in 2022 I had held a number of senior executive roles in the Australian Public Service over the last two decades and was largely responsible for designing the micro-economic reform of Australia's aged care industry.I currently operate as an economic consultant and commentator and serve on the boards of a number of for-profit organisations including The Shepherd Centre, Mambourin and Community Services #1.My knowledge of Australia's health, aged care and disability support systems and my expertise in public policy, health economics and data analysis has been recognised through a number of national and international awards and appointments, including:* Chief Economist, National Disability Insurance Scheme* Chief Economist, Australian Department of Health* Senior Adviser to the Royal Commission on Aged Care Quality and Safety.* Adjunct Professor at Macquarie University’s Centre for the Health Economy.* Honorary Professor in Health Economics at the Australian National University.* Adjunct Professor in Health Economics and Aged Care Policy at the National Centre for Socio-economic Modelling.* Collaborator, Global Buden of Disease, Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation.* Past President, Expert Group on the Economics of Prevention, OECDI am a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and of the Royal Society for Public Health as well as an Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Management and a Member of the Royal Economics Society.I was awarded Australia Day Achievement Medallions in 2011 and 2013 for his contributions to aged care reform in Australia.Specialties: Health Economics, NDIS, Aged Care, Long Term Care, Public Policy
