As a Customer Relationship Manager within HMRC's Large Business Directorate I work closely with a mixed portfolio of customers, leading sub-teams, to manage the relationship between large multinational groups and HMRC across all taxes and duties. I am responsible and accountable for preparing integrated cross tax regime risk assessments, sharing HMRC’s view of risk with customers, ensuring compliance checks are carried out effectively and co-ordinating resource to risk using a range of specialist resource within HMRC. I am also responsible for managing and leading in-depth compliance investigations covering multiple risks across all taxes and duties In addition to my CRM role I am also lead on a number of regional and national continuous improvement projects. Before working as Customer Relationship Manager I specialised in Tax Incentives and Reliefs as an R&D tax relief and Patent Box Specialist. I worked on both Small Medium Enterprise R&D and Patent Box cases and on a consultancy basis on a number of substantial Large Business R&D claims and Patent Box elections across various sectors including pharmaceuticals, software, defence, aerospace, manufacturing and finance and banking.
