I have just started, (November 2021), a Tiny Home project that will focus on independent living in for people with developmental disabilities, Midtown Housing Coalition, LLC. The idea is to create a community where people with disabilities can live in affordable housing with people without disabilities. The focal point of the project will be a community center that will have programs that the residents will want to participate. We plan to partner with other organizations in the area to come up with innovative and interesting activities. I am on the Board of Directors for Alliance Health. Alliance is the managed care organization, or MCO, for public behavioral healthcare for the citizens of Durham, Wake, Cumberland and Johnston counties in North Carolina. Alliance manages Medicaid along with State and Local expenditures for Mental Health, Substance Use Disorder, and Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities. Additionally, I am a member of the Alliance Behavioral Healthcare, Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (CFAC). I am a past chair and am currently in my 11th year representing Wake County (7 years), and Durham County (4 years and counting).Completed the Motorcycle Mechanic Certificate course at Central Carolina.
