As Quality Control Manager I was responsible for managing & expanding the production crews, overseeing the daily operations of a 118 person staff including Project Managers, Crew Leaders, and tradesmen. Making sure all policies & procedures were being met, and create new ones where inefficiencies were present. This included annual reviews, and other HR issues. Training the trainers to supplement areas as needed. Oversee managers and help direct marketing and all phases of profit within the three lines of the Remodeling Division: 1. As Construction and Maintenance Supervisor I was responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervising of construction operations,maintenance and repair of buildings, and associated systems for the 125 acre campus. I was responsible for the planning, work direction, and administration of the Architectural Unit of Facility Management, VAMC Milwaukee. I’d plan, layout, and coordinate work for the Architectural team on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Scheduling, assigning tasks and work orders to the appropriate 28 member staff. I would review and analyze completed work, review costs, and unanticipated delays to evaluate work processes, cost controls, and to anticipate and/or avoid problems, and improve future work processes to ensure quality and timeliness standards were met. I developed and evaluated qualitative and quantitative work standards. I developed, implemented, and modified methods and procedures to ensure continuing improvement of the efficiency/cost effectiveness of the Architectural team.

As Production Manager I was responsible for all field operations. Including verifying daily that there was great communications between the sales staff, customers and all vendors/sub-contractors. I would review/approve preliminary plans/drawings to ensure that all needs of the customer are met making any changes/modifications necessary, to include meeting/verifying compliance with all OSHA, ADA, NFPA measurements/requirements, prior to the customer's approval. Then review final plans and specifications ensuring that no problems are incurred when filing for and obtaining all building permits. I developed incentive programs for individual crews to assist in maintaining a quality work force and maximize employee performance. I approved all requests for payment to subcontractors, verifying that the work has been completed and priced as stated in the contract. Reviewed all material invoices and approve payment to vendors, verifying that materials are properly allocated to a job, priced accordingly, and that the invoices are verified and reflect actual shipments. Upon completion of the project I’d ensure the client's satisfaction and obtain their signature on the required forms. I used Construction software on a regular and recurring basis to document progress, maintain records, correspond with managers, employees, and clients, ensure all materials are delivered timely, and ensure that the project stayed on schedule and within budget.

While performing as the Production Manager, Array Marketing consistently met and/or surpassed production goals. In doing so I was responsible for the day to day floor ops and production of Point of Purchase kitchen displays for our customer Home Depot. Assisted management with contract negotiations with primary customer. Supervised the start-up of multi-shift manufacturing, which included writing work procedures, selecting, hiring, and training new employees, reaching full capacity of over 95 employees while overseeing employees and maintaining quality and production goals. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, by auditing existing processes, identifying critical gaps, collaborating with production engineers and project managers to identify and solve problem issues, and design new corrective procedures. Collaborated with customer teams to identify and remedy quality, delivery, and installation issues. Demonstrated strengths in oral and written communications by consistently building and maintaining strong relationships with management, vendors, and customers through close and effective communication. Supervised the preparation/shipping of all orders. Planned, arranged, and supervised rework groups which traveled to onsite delivery locations to repair units damaged in delivery, to perform installation, and complete other problem-solving actions. Maintained a safe workplace for all employees, ensuring OSHA standards were met. Array Marketing improved productivity 350 percent and reduced customer complaints 150 percent while I was employed as Production Manager.

At C. R. House Builders we provided renovation, restoration and new construction of multi-family, modular (Jim Walters & Oakwood Pre-fab Homes), residential, historical, commercial, and industrial buildings and projects. We were a full service general contractor and construction consultant, developing, managing, and building construction projects. At its peak C.R. had five crews working various projects at the same time. We constructed over 100 new homes. We did multi-family construction, multiple office refits and rebuilds. Two of our largest customers were B. Dalton (Scribner's Book Stores), and Thomasville Furniture. We built retail facilities for Scribner's, and worked with the Thomasville designers building sets for their furniture market shows at the Southern Furniture Market facility in High Point, NC. CR House Builders maintained a diverse staff of fully trained professionals with extensive experience within the construction industry.
