Lead Tunnel Inspector

Construction of the outlet structure and discharge channel requires relocation of approximately 500 feet of the Anderson Force Main (AFM). Job duties include inspection and coordinating 3rd party QA testing during construction of temporary haul roads and Diversion Outlet Portal soil nail wall with reinforced shotcrete and the tunnel portal with steel sets and shotcrete liner.

Job duties included tunnel inspection for the Gravity Pipeline tunnel project. The project is a component of SVCW’s Regional Environmental Sewer Conveyance Upgrade (RESCU) program, which includes a series of projects to improve the reliability of SVCW’s wastewater conveyance system servicing the cities of Belmont, Redwood City, San Carlos, and the West Bay Sanitary District. The GP comprises a 17,400 LF, 16.25’, diameter tunnel with 10-inch-thick precast concrete segmental lining driven by an EPB TBM with up to 2.5 bar, with an internal 11-foot-diameter fiberglass-reinforced polymer mortar pipeline (FRPM) extending from Inner Bair Island south of the San Carlos Airport to SVCW’s wastewater treatment plant located at the eastern edge of Redwood City, California. Job duties included inspection of EPB tunneling methods and precast concrete liner installations, construction of slurry wall and sheet pile shafts and construction of Starter galleries for TBM launch using NATM tunneling methods. Additional responsibilities included monitoring installation of 11’ diameter fiberglass-reinforced polymer mortar pipe and tie ins, Low Density Cellular Concrete placement and surface structures.
